May 2010: The When? Issue

To everything – turn, turn, turn
There is a season – turn, turn, turn
And a time for every purpose under heaven

A time to be born, a time to die
A time to plant, a time to reap
A time to kill, a time to heal
A time to laugh, a time to weep
– The Byrds, quoting Ecclesiastes 3

“Your past is important, but it is not nearly as important to your present as the way you see your future.” – Dr. Tony Campolo

The best stories are timeless. They speak to us, no matter how old the story or the audience. They inspire and challenge and encourage us to grow. As we measure growth, time is a great reference. Where do things stand now, how did they used to be, and where are they headed?

This month, the Journalism Stars look into the past, present, and future and report on what we see. Many of the stories are very personal and connect us to an important event that just happened or happened long ago. Some help us dream of the future. Journey with us.
