TV Review: Once Upon a Time

by Amanda and Marissa

We started watching the show “Once Upon A Time” and we loved it.  It is about a woman named Emma who found her son that she put up for adoption. Emma’s child (Henry) explained to her that the people in his town (Story Brooke) are fairy tale characters but don’t remember who they were in the other world. Some characters are Snow White, The Evil Queen and many more but they are all from Henry’s fairy tale book. We highly recommend you watch it.  It’s on Channel 7 at 8pm  on Sundays.

Book Review: Daphne’s Diary of Daily Disasters

by Manal

This book is about a girl named Daphne who writes in her diary about disasters that happen to her everyday. Mostly all her life she gets bad luck. One time that she had bad luck was when she went to the orthodontist and got her braces. By accident while she was there, she pulled out her baby tooth, and it wasn’t even loose yet!

My favorite part of the book was when Daphne was making fun of these soccer moms in her diary. She was doodling how one looked like a skinny horse, and the other looked like a pig. Then when she looked up her two twin brothers’ hit her with three soccer balls at the same time..ouch!

Game Review: Cabela’s Big Game Hunter

by Islam

Cabela’s Big Game Hunter 2012 is the perfect Wii game. It’s not that violent. You have to use your hunting and survival skills to try to survive a week in the forest- that’s if you play story mode. If you play free-play, you have to pick a camping ground and there is no limit on hunting. You should try playing it. The graphics are awesome! You can find it at GameStop. It costs $60. Its pricy, but it is worth it!

Celebrity Spotlight: Patti Staub

by Carolyn

Some celebrities are followed by the paparazzi.  Some celebrities get their faces on the cover of magazines.  Some celebrities are not well known, but they are celebrities in their own circles.  The celebrity I am writing about is Patti Staub.  Patti Staub was born with BORN WITH THE BEAGLES.

Patti Staub was born in 1940 and slept with a beloved Beagle under her crib.  During the war years in the 1940′s money was tight.  Patti’s mom bred Beagles because it was an inexpensive hobby.  Patti’s mother taught her how wonderful dogs, especially beagles, were.  Patti officially bred her first litter at the age of four in 1944.  Patti’s name was on all the paperwork, which her mother took care of.

Patti has bred 35 Champion Beagles.  She had a beagle by the name of Lite-N-Lively who beat out about 300 other Beagles to become the winner of the National Specialty  for this breed in 1992. Patti Staub was also the Director of the National Beagle Club from 1993 till 1998.

Patti estimates that she bred about 125 beagle puppies in her lifetime.  She will tell you that a good breeder breeds for the love of the breed and nothing more. Patti is a celebrity to all of the families who have had the honor of raising and loving one of her beautiful dogs.  She has made many families more happy than they ever expected.

Patti says that she will always take a dog back if the owner cannot keep it, or has a problem with the dog.  She never wants one of her beloved hounds in a kennel.  Patti is a celebrity in the world of Beagle breeding.  She will always be a celebrity to me, because she sent me my beloved hound, Snoopy.  I wish she would breed another 125 Beagles!

Movie Review: Toy Story 3

Reviewed by Hagar

“I can’t believe Andy is going to college! No wonder why we’ve been stuck in this toy box and haven’t been played with for over 2 years.”

In the movie Toy Story, the toys are back with some  more         spectacular adventures. They return with some new friends and faces. As Andy is preparing for college, Woody, Jessie, and the rest of the toys wonder where they are going to end up. Andy can’t take his toys to college, so they are either going to end up in the trash or in the attic. But when Andy decides to put them in a bag to go to the attic, his mom mistakenly thinks its trash. So the toys end up in the garbage because of Andy’s mom. But when they find their way out of the bag, they think its Andy who threw them out. The toys are mad at Andy and think that it was his fault. Now they feel that Andy doesn’t need them anymore. When they see the box for the Sunnyside Day Care donation they decide to go in the box and leave because they don’t think they need to stay now that they’ve been thrown away. When they move to Sunnyside Day Care, they meet hundreds of new toys and friends like Lots-O’-Huggin bear. He seemed so nice and showed the toys around and made them trust him. But, that was a big mistake. Lots-O’-Huggin tells them they will be staying in the caterpillar room from now on. When the kids come back from recess, the kids go out of control and they’re biting the toys heads. That’s when they realize that Lots-O and the others are bad because they know what happens in the caterpillar room. Now the toys regret leaving home. Whenever they try to escape, Lots-O is always on the lookout. Will the toys ever go home? Find out and watch Toy Story 3 to find out what will happen next!
